The rich and creamy tomato-based sauce that goes well with butter chicken is what makes it so popular. The following is a recipe for butter chicken:
Ingredients:
- 500 grams boneless chicken, cut into pieces;
- 2 tablespoons butter;
- 1 tablespoon oil;
- 1 large, finely chopped onion;
- 2 teaspoons ginger-garlic paste;
- 2 teaspoons red chili powder;
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder;
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
; - 1 teaspoon ground cumin;
- 1 cup tomato puree;
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt;
- 1/2 cup heavy cream;
- 1 tablespoon dried fenugreek
1 tablespoon lemon juice,
1/2 cup plain yogurt,
1 teaspoon red chili powder,
1 teaspoon ground cumin,
1 teaspoon ground coriander,
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder,
and 1/2 teaspoon salt
Procedure:
1. Combine all of the ingredients for the marinade in a bowl. Place the chicken pieces in and thoroughly coat them in the marinade. Allow it to marinate for no less than 1 hour or short-term in the fridge.
2. In a large skillet or pan, heat the butter and oil over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onions until they soften and turn a golden brown.
3. Add ginger-garlic glue and sauté for one more moment until the crude smell vanishes.
4. Add red bean stew powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and ground cumin. Mix thoroughly and cook for a minute to let the flavors come out.
5. Add tomato puree and cook for 5 minutes, mixing sometimes.
6. Decrease the intensity to low and add the marinated chicken pieces alongside the marinade. Cook the chicken until it is fully cooked through, about 10 to 15 minutes.
7. Incorporate the heavy cream and plain yogurt. Combine all of the ingredients thoroughly.
8. To taste, add salt and crushed dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi). Stew for an additional 5 minutes, permitting the flavors to mix together.
9. Adjust the seasoning to your liking after tasting the sauce.
10. Remove from the heat and add fresh cilantro leaves as a garnish.
Naan bread, rice, or roti can all go well with butter chicken. Take pleasure in your savory homemade butter chicken!
